Asset Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
At Green Energy Storage (GES) we are working on the energy system of tomorrow. We develop, build, and operate large-scale battery energy storage systems that contribute to a reliable, sustainable, and flexible electricity grid. Our asset portfolio is growing rapidly, so we are expanding our team with an Asset Manager who will be responsible for the long-term performance of our battery assets.
Your role
As an Asset Manager, you'll be responsible for the long-term performance, availability, and value creation of our battery assets. You'll operate at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and commercial contracts, translating asset behavior into strategic decisions.
You will work closely with Operations, Trading, Engineering, Finance, and external partners to ensure that our assets operate safely, compliantly, reliably, and are economically optimized.
This isn't a purely technical role, nor is it a purely commercial one. It's about ownership, oversight, and making the right decisions over an asset lifespan of 15-20+ years.
What are you going to do
- Asset performance: Monitor and improve technical performance, availability, and degradation of BESS assets.
- Lifecycle management: Develop and maintain asset lifecycle strategies, including maintenance, upgrades, replacement, and end-of-life.
- Commercial interface: Supporting commercial asset models such as tolling, merchant and grid services, and assessing performance against contractual KPIs and revenue models
- Risk & Compliance: Identify and manage technical, operational and commercial risks and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards and permits.
- Stakeholder management: Supporting clients, insurers, financiers and other stakeholders with asset-related reportingges and insights.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute to building and professionalizing asset management processes, dashboards and reporting.gesstructures within a growing organization.
Who are you
- You are analytical, gesStructured and curious. You're comfortable connecting technical details with commercial impact and are willing to challenge existing assumptions.
- HBO/WO education in Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- Experience with asset management, operations, system engineering or energy projects.
- Affinity with battery systems, power systems and/or energy markets.
- Comfortable with data, performance indicators and technical documentation.
- Able to translate asset behavior into strategic and commercial decisions.
- You feel at home in a dynamic, fast-growing organization.
