The process from energy to storage
We've been developing large-scale battery storage projects since 2017. While energy storage was still a new field at the time, we quickly recognized the potential of batteries as a vital link in the energy system.
With years of experience, technical expertise and proven achievements, GES today among the leaders in the Netherlands in the field of large-scale energy storage.
Development
For a successful battery storage project, we begin with a thorough analysis of the location, grid connection, and spatial and technical feasibility. We examine the energy grid, zoning plan, safety requirements, and the business case to determine whether a BESS is profitable and feasible.
We then guide the entire development process:
We handle the necessary research, permits, financing, and contracting. We also carefully select the right suppliers and partners to ensure the project is optimally designed technically, legally, and financially.
Realization
During the implementation phase, we oversee the entire construction of the energy storage system. We coordinate the civil and electrical engineering work, monitor the schedule, and ensure safe and careful execution.
We also arrange all necessary network infrastructure, security systems, connection to the medium-voltage grid and integration with software and control systems.
In this way, we ensure that the BESS functions optimally and is ready for use on the energy markets and for balancing services.
Asset Management
To ensure that the energy storage system performs reliably throughout its entire lifespan, we provide technical and operational management.
We monitor the system 24/7, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and monitor safety, performance, and compliance.
In this way we prevent downtime, optimize yields and keep the BESS in optimal condition for a long time.
