Sequoia is a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) from 200 MW capacity and 800 MWh storage capacity, developed by Green Energy Storage (GESThe project will be located in the municipality of Oosterhout and will begeslottery tickets on the 150 kV station of TenneT in Geertruidenberg. The project is designed as a long-term energy infrastructure.

Sequoia plays a key role in increasing the flexibility and reliability of the Dutch electricity grid. By storing and returning energy at strategic times, the project actively contributes to with congestion softening, grid balance and more efficient use of sustainable generation.
